Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does this regional10462 book describe timed filter or press preparation?
Yes. The selected earlier EU-reference edition documents those brew categories, a time/quantity control and container collection. It is not a confirmedUS buying match.
Explore this need in the finder →Is this selected EU configuration suitable for an ordinary US outlet?
No. Its selected regional rating is220–240V50 Hz. The shared book’s separate120VUS entry does not convert the actual EU unit.
Explore this need in the finder →Will it weigh my dose during grinding?
No. Quantity is time-related; the book’s differing output examples show why a duration is not a measured grams target.

The Antigua10462 is a conical-burr grinder described in Bodum's May 2006 family book alongside10463and10539. This assessment follows the 10462 reference in the dealer-hosted 01EURO document, rather than treating those three model numbers or the older 5670 family as one product.
Its operating design is a timed home-batch routine with a bean reservoir and receiving container. For an existing or used unit, the practical first question is the actual model and electrical label. A manual listing more than one supply version is not proof of universal-voltage operation.
The regional boundary comes first
The technical table separates a 220–240V50 Hz EU version from a 120V60 Hz US version. The reviewed regional document is retained here as an EU operating reference, not a confirmed US buying configuration. A US warranty paragraph elsewhere in the shared book does not convert the regional unit's rating.
If you need ordinary US outlet use, choose a positively identified 120 V configuration with applicable instructions. Do not decide from a plug photograph, the Antigua name or a seller's claim that an adapter is included.
Time selects an approximate amount
The book describes a time/quantity control that ends a cycle after the selected interval. It gives different illustrative output quantities for fine, middle and coarse grinding over the same duration. Those examples demonstrate why time is not a direct weight measurement.
Start from your brewing recipe, establish a grind region and check what a chosen interval actually produces with your coffee. Record the combination. If you change beans or move to another method, check the quantity again rather than assuming the same timer value has the same output.
The on/off control can interrupt the run, but no separate untimed dosing program is established here. There is no documented integrated target-weight system choosing a grams output from the reservoir.
A reservoir is different from a measured batch
The selected document gives a maximum 250 g bean capacity. That is a reservoir limit, not a statement that the machine should process the entire store in one continuous run or a specified single-dose range.
The reviewed edition requires a long cooling wait after its 40-second operation and says to empty the receiver after each such run. That running pattern matters if you plan several batches. Storage above the burrs does not remove the receiving or cooling requirements below them.
If your essential is changing coffee for each brew with automatic completion after the last bean, seek a model that explicitly documents that routine. A timed reservoir grinder should not be relabeled as an empty-load automatic simply because it can be emptied.
The brew guide is a starting point
Bodum names espresso, filter coffee and French press in its fine-to-coarse guidance, including intermediate choices. Use those categories to begin adjustment. They do not establish independently measured grind quality or compatibility with every conventional unpressurized espresso basket.
When beans are present, the manual says to adjust while the motor is running. Follow that exact instruction and avoid importing an opposite adjustment rule from a different grinder. Keep enough receiving room while making changes so grounds do not accumulate back into the outlet.
Care follows the removable grinding ring
After unplugging and emptying, the hopper turns to its release position and lifts off. The grinding ring can then be removed for soft-brush cleaning. Reassemble in the stated order, keeping the electrical housing out of water.
The manual also describes a stone-protection clutch and tells the user to switch off and unplug if the corresponding abnormal rattling occurs. It is a protective response, not a normal dosing feature or a reason to ignore a fault.
This10462 regional reference is useful for understanding an older timed, reservoir-to-container design. Choose a separately verified US model for US power, or another documented workflow for direct handle collection, integrated weighing or true end-of-load stopping.
