Infinity #565.05Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

Home espresso, filter and French-press routines that use time-based stopping and a separate grounds transfer.

The main tradeoff

Time repeats duration rather than weight; the metal body does not add a direct portafilter holder or prove cafe duty.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I repeat a chosen number of seconds for espresso or filter coffee?

Yes. #565.05 documents a five-to-sixty-second timer and both brewing uses. Time is the stopping rule, so check the resulting amount again after changing beans or grind size.

Is a silver Infinity 560 the same metal machine as this 565.05?

No. The maker identifies #565.05 as the zinc-die-cast model with its grounded power arrangement. The #560 ABS branch can have a silver-colored finish without that metal housing.

Can I weigh one batch of beans and access the upper burr for care?

The guide supports loading the amount intended when changing coffees and describes upper-burr removal. The timer still needs to be managed; a weighed input does not create automatic empty-load stopping.

A metal Infinity with a real seconds timer

The Capresso Infinity #565.05 is the metal, zinc-die-cast branch of the original Infinity range. It fits a home routine that collects coffee in a bin and uses a short adjustable running time to control the amount. This is a separate model from the ABS #560 and from Infinity Plus: the original #565.05 reference explicitly provides a five-to-sixty-second timer.

Choose that simple time-based routine if you are comfortable checking the dose and making an occasional adjustment. Choose a genuine weighing system if you want the motor to stop because a measured target weight has been reached.

Metal construction changes the model, not the dose principle

The exact product page identifies the heavier metal housing, while the shared operating guide gives the #565 a grounded three-prong power arrangement. Those are useful identity checks if two similar-looking Infinity models appear in a comparison. A silver-colored #560.04 has ABS construction with a stainless finish; it is not this metal model.

The reviewed #565.05 is a 120 V, 60 Hz version. Check the actual unit label if looking at a different regional offer. The case material and a commercial-grade description of the burrs do not establish continuous professional duty or independently measured durability.

Read time and grind size as separate adjustments

There are sixteen stepped grind positions. The maker's guide names pump espresso, drip or manual filter brewing, and French press among its intended applications. It does not explicitly identify nonpressurized baskets in this edition, so someone with that strict requirement should seek specific confirmation rather than equating “espresso” with every basket design.

The timer controls elapsed grinding time. A finer setting can deliver a different amount in the same interval, so returning to a familiar time after changing the grind does not necessarily return to the same dose. An external weight check is useful when a recipe needs more precision than the dial labels provide.

The manual also describes interrupting the motor by moving the bean container into the non-grinding area. The timer itself can continue moving. Be aware that returning the container to an active setting before the timer reaches zero can resume operation.

A batch-loading option within the bin workflow

Capresso rates the bean reservoir for 8.8 ounces of whole beans. For changing between coffees, the instructions recommend putting in only what you intend to grind. That is useful for an owner who dislikes emptying a full hopper merely to make a different coffee.

The supported receiving arrangement is the removable grounds container, fully inserted before use. The manual does not turn the espresso brew recommendation into a supported direct portafilter holder. Plan a transfer step from the bin to the brewing device.

Loading a measured batch does not add automatic empty-load detection. Check the food path and stop appropriately; do not assume a timer-driven machine has recognized the final bean simply because you measured the input beforehand.

Cleaning access rewards careful reassembly

The upper conical burr can be lifted out as the guide describes, making the grinding chamber accessible for brushing. Its soft collar must be correctly positioned when it goes back. Empty the hopper before removing it and follow the alignment marks rather than forcing the locking parts.

The washing instructions distinguish the containers from the burr and collar. The designated containers have top-rack dishwasher guidance; the burr and collar do not. Keep liquid out of the grinder body and let permitted washed parts dry before assembly.

Watch the bin's maximum line during larger batches. Coffee building back toward the outlet is a path obstruction, not extra storage capacity. The three-minute continuous-running limit in the guide should also be respected even if the next batch is waiting.

Who should choose #565.05?

It is a logical fit when the metal housing, grounded US edition, removable upper burr and adjustable seconds timer match your home setup. Its basic workflow still involves collecting and checking grounds. Compare a direct-to-portafilter design to remove that transfer, or a scale-controlled grinder to change the stopping rule. Neither a different case finish nor a larger setting count would make those changes for you.
