EXACTOR Legacy GR-2.2 / G02012, North American 120 V versionIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A batch-brewing operation keeping two coffees available with separately calibrated portion programs.

The main tradeoff

Two hoppers are not a household single-dose system; basket fit, calibration and the particular legacy electrical version matter.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I keep two coffees ready for commercial filter brewing?

The GR-2.2 has two removable bean hoppers and two portion choices per side. Each coffee and portion needs its own calibration.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does it weigh each portion and stop at the target mass?

No integrated weighing control is established. The manual describes digital timed feeding followed by a motor-clearing delay.

Is the hopper capacity one shared reservoir?

No. FETCO lists two separate5 lb/2.3 kg reservoirs. The recorded2300 g value is per hopper and must not be interpreted as a single larger loading chamber.

The FETCO EXACTOR GR-2.2 is a commercial batch-brewing reference for keeping two coffees ready and selecting a calibrated portion for each. It is particularly relevant when one brewing station repeatedly makes different batch sizes or switches between two established coffees. It is not a compact single-dose grinder with two interchangeable cups.

Two coffees, two portion choices per side

The exact GR-2.2 specification identifies two removable five-pound bean hoppers and two portion selections for each side. The related GR-2.3 has a different selection arrangement. Keeping the suffix intact avoids promising controls belonging to another model.

Each reservoir is listed as approximately 2.3 kg. Combining those figures into one larger hopper would misrepresent how the grinder is loaded. If the operation needs two coffees ready, the separate reservoirs are the useful feature; if it needs one very large uninterrupted reservoir, that is a different requirement.

The basket belongs to the brewing system

The original P185 instructions describe grinding into a paper-filter-lined brew basket on the supporting arrangement. They also describe the lower shelf used with larger filters. The G02012 sheet states that brew baskets are sold separately.

Confirm the basket and brewer combination before buying. A commercial basket receiver does not establish direct espresso-portafilter compatibility, and a picture of grounds collection does not turn the machine into an ordinary household dosing-cup grinder.

Time control, followed by clearing

The operating sequence uses a digital timer. On the GR-2, the timed feed ends when the hopper gate closes; the motor then continues briefly to clear beans already in the grinding path. That delayed stop is part of the repeat-portion mechanism, not proof of a supported one-load, grind-until-empty workflow.

Calibrate the portions with the actual coffee and recipe. A saved time does not measure the arriving grounds continuously. The machine's stop button can interrupt a cycle, but interruption should not be confused with a separately documented manual dosing program.

Respect the legacy operating edition

FETCO labels this manual EXACTOR Legacy and identifies the post2010 model family. It points earlier machines to a different handbook and international CE versions to another document. Match the actual serial information and electrical label rather than treating a family resemblance as enough.

The selected North American reference uses120 V equipment, with the matching motor assembly listed for 60 Hz. That is an identified source branch, not a declaration that every used GR-2.2 has the same supply. The older specification and later manual also differ on some motor detail, so no larger horsepower figure is used as a reason to recommend it.

Who benefits from this arrangement?

A commercial filter-coffee station with established recipes can make practical use of two coffees, repeated portions and direct basket preparation. Both hoppers and covers must be correctly in place even when only one side is in use. Cleaning instructions also distinguish removable hoppers from their covers, so follow the exact part-specific procedure.

For a home counter, changing beans one dose at a time or weighing directly into an espresso basket, this is the wrong workflow to assume. Its value lies in a planned batch-brewing station, with the correct baskets, calibration and support for the actual legacy machine.
